The life of an organization has something in common with the life of a human being! Many times it is born from a positive impulse that we can name it love.
The organization has functioned without juristic act since 1995 in the room given by St. Ilie Church. Through the efforts of a group of initiative of 17 people, there was identified, as an opportunity at the town’s level, providing a hot meal for the people having nothing to eat. The necessity of drawing the material and financial funds led to institutionalizing the organization.
Since 1997, Omenia Philantropic Foundation, legally constituted in accordance with the Law 21/1924 through the Juridical Decision PJM1/27.02.1997, has as beneficiaries the members of the families affected by reorganization of economical activities in Tirgu Neamt.
The mission of Omenia Philantropic Foundation is helping the socially disadvantaged people with the purpose of diminishing needs and reducing major risks.
By 2000, due to lack of room, the organization activity was limited to ensuring a daily hot meal to families in crisis
With hard efforts and persuasion, the members of the foundation have succeeded in obtaining the administration of the building which was donated to the local administration in 1921, having as a purpose a permanent Orphanage named Prince Carol and Princess Elena. It was thus fulfilled a written and less known wish, but a soul debt of the descendants.
With funds drawn through projects financed by the Dutch foundations Stichting Kinderpostzegels Nederland and Frysland Moldova, the building was restored and fitted up for carrying on complex activities of supporting the socially disadvantaged people.
The created conditions allowed the team work an organizational development according to identified needs on beneficiaries’ groups.
The general aim is supporting the efforts of local authority and community in dealing with social problems.
Specific aims are developing personalized social services on beneficiaries’ groups: children, young, adults.
Since 30.06.2005, the foundation is authorized by M.M.S.S.F. as social service provider for the following activities:
- Support and assistance for the children and the families in need;
- Assistance and support for ensuring an autonomous and active life to the old as well as attendance services for the old in an addiction phase;
- Providing support measures for work integration, others than the ones specified in legislation in force.
The organizational frame and the created conditions allowed for initiating and developing specific projects on groups of beneficiaries. The beneficiaries of the organization are selected from the target group - socially disadvantaged families:
- children with the risk of giving up school and/or family;
- young and adults excluded from the work market;
- lonely old people in miserable conditions.
The organization vision. Tg. Neamt community, able to give support for social integration of the disadvantaged people, a community in which every person’s problems to be everybody’s problems, supports the organization’s mission of helping the socially disadvantaged people in Tg. Neamt.
